Organ Systems
There are many organ systems of the human body. There is the cardivascular, urinary, endocrine, integumentary, respiratory, lymphatic, and digestive. Your heart, blood, blood vessels make up your cardiovascular system. Your heart creates pressure when it beats. That pressure is what moves blood throughout you body. The cardiovascular system helps maintain homeostasis. Homeostasis is the maintaince of a constant internal condition in a changing environment. This system also helps carry a chemical called hormones throughout your body.
The next system is the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the group of tissues and organs that collect the excess fluid and return it to your blood. The fluid that gets collect by the lymphatic system are carried through vessels. The smallest vessel in the lymphatic system is the lymph capillaries. Lymph capillaries absorb some of the fluid between cells. These particles are too large to fit through the blood capillaries. Some of these particles are dead cells or pathogens. These fluid and particles into lymph capillaries are called lymph. Lymph drains into the large neck veins of the cadiovascular system.
The next system is the respitory system. The words breathing and respiration are always thinking if meaning the same thing well... it doesn't. However breathing is one part of the respitatory system. Respiration is the process of releasing carbon dioxide and water and takes in oxygen. Respiration is in two parts. The first part is breathing, which is inhaling and exhaling. The second part is cellular respiration, which involves chemical reaction that release energy from food. Braathing is only possible by the respitory system. The nose, throat, lungs, and paths that lead to the lungs make up the respitory system.
Now the urinary system as your body workschemical activities that keep you alive, waste products, like carbon dioxide and ammonia, are made. Your body gets rid of those wastes to keep you healthy. The urinary system removes these wastes. The kidney are the pair of the organs that filter your blood. Your kidney filters about 2,000 L of blood each day. your body only holds only 5.6 L of blood, so your blood cycles about 350 times a day. You drink water every day(hopefully). You lose sweat and urine every day also. You need to drink as much water as you do get rid of it. If you don't go through that your body will swell. The balance of fluids is controlled by chemical messengers in the body called hormones.
The digestive system that seems to be the favorite. When you feel hungry that's because you brain is recieving infomation that your cells need energy. The obvious part of your digestive system is a lot of tubelike organs called the digestive tract. The digestive tract is your mouth, phaynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. The human digestive system can be as long as 9 meters long!!! The liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and salivary glands are also a part of the digestive system. One thing food doesn't pass through these organs. The part about eating is just the beggining of the digestive system's track. The food starts in your mouth where the food is chewed and broken up. There are enzymes that help your mouth break the food down. The esophagus squeezes food with a rhythmic muscle contractions called persitalsis. The stomach is called the harsh environment of the digestive system because it squeezes the food in your stomach and just squishes it with no resting. It goes from the stmach and to the intestines then the urinary system gets rid of the wastes.
The integumentary system is had of the skin, hair, nails. The skin protects you by keeping water in your body and different particles in your body. I also helps with homeostasis. Homeostasis is the maintaince of a constant condition i a chanding environment. There are three layers of skin epidermis(top layer that you see), dermis(the rest under the epidermis). The hair and nails are the most important part of the integumentary system.
The next system is the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is the group of tissues and organs that collect the excess fluid and return it to your blood. The fluid that gets collect by the lymphatic system are carried through vessels. The smallest vessel in the lymphatic system is the lymph capillaries.
